Why Giving the Flu Vaccine During Pregnancy Doesn’t Make Any Sense #Vaccines #Adverse Reactions To Vaccines #Mandated Vaccines

The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice (ACIP) recommends flu vaccination during all trimesters of pregnancy.

However, according to a report published in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons, this recommendation is unjustified, unwise, and should be withdrawn.

Citing ACIP’s own sources, as well as current literature, the report based its conclusions on the following findings:

  • Flu infection is rarely a threat during normal pregnancy.
  • There is no “convincing evidence” that the flu vaccination is effective during pregnancy.
  • Studies have not adequately assessed the risk of flu vaccination during pregnancy.
  • Thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative present in most flu vaccines, has been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism, in humans.
  • Thimerosal has been linked to a number of animal reproductive toxicities including teratogenicity, mutagenicity and fetal death…

FDA Pertussis Vaccine Study Shatters Illusion of Vaccine-Induced Immunity #Vaccines #Mandated Vaccines #Adverse Reactions To Vaccines

November 10, 2013

By Barbara Loe Fisher

It was 1977 when I found out I was going to become a Mom. I instinctively knew I needed to be careful while I was pregnant, especially during the first two trimesters when the major organ systems of the fetus develop at a rapid rate. In the 1960’s there had been a lot of publicity about babies dying or being born without arms or legs because women had taken a drug (Thalidomide) for morning sickness in the first or second trimester of pregnancy1 and I wanted to make sure I did everything I could to protect my health and the health of my baby before and after he was born.

Mothers to be in my generation were told to take extra vitamins and eat nutritious food but, most of all, to avoid anything that could harm the developing fetus like alcohol, cigarette smoke, medications, radiation, household cleaning products and other toxic exposures. Some of us were aware of the risks of heavy anesthesia during delivery and signed up for Lamaze classes to prepare for a drug-free birth, which many obstetricians discouraged, and we chose to breastfeed, even though a lot of pediatricians were pushing formula and bottles back then…

There is a lot of wisdom to be gained from individuals that have witnessed changes in standard health recommendations over the decades without a vested interest.  I once heard the suggestion, “If you want to be good at something then study from those who are successful at that particular skill.” This quote sounds like the obvious but how often do “experts” rely on a biased, financially lucrative view or put trust and base their word on organizations that with a small amount of research prove questionable? I would think when giving health advice to pregnant woman that it should truly be the best and proven healthy advice.

How Vaccine Policy & Law Threatens Parental Rights in America Part 2 #Vaccines #Mandated Vaccines #Adverse Reactions To Vaccines

Individual Rights versus Politics

The Greater Good “weaves together the stories of families whose lives have been forever changed by vaccination,” and shows how modern medicine, especially when driven by politics and big business, can rob you of some of your most basic rights. The results of such politically- and financially-driven policies can be devastating and one movie reviewer, who saw the groundbreaking documentary, commented:

“What’s being said is staggering, especially if you don’t know too much about the science of, and politics behind, vaccines.” – LA Weekly…

“THE GREATER GOOD looks behind the fear, hype and politics that have polarized the vaccine debate in America today.

The film re-frames the emotionally charged issue and offers, for the first time, the opportunity for a rational and scientific discussion on how to create a safer and more effective vaccine program.”

If you want to be aware of significant risks to your parental rights or just like documentarys then this is one film to watch.

An Introduction to Vaccine Exemptions #Vaccines #Vaccine Exemptions #Mandated Vaccines

You may read Alan’s Q & A responses from posts earlier this week. Great answers from a wide variety of questions. Please feel free to send in any legal questions you may have for him in relation to vaccines. He is the foremost, national legal expert in this area.

It is always better to be prepared with anything tied to legal matters than to be surprised with legal challenges. Know your stuff. What would make sense to be our common right at times has been twisted to benefit another entity. A quick check ahead of time can save a lot of headaches and money.

When commenting, I would love to know your names and/or the state or country where you reside.

Thanks, Jen  🙂

An Introduction to Vaccine Exemptions

Everywhere routine vaccines are mandated in the United States, one or more exemptions are allowed.

Everywhere vaccines are mandated, at least some people may be eligible to refuse them legally without penalty. Exceptions to vaccine mandates fall into three basic categories:

1. Medical: Generally available whenever vaccines pose a serious risk of harm to the intended recipient. Usually, they require a recommendation from a licensed medical doctor. Some authorities can deny medical exemptions even when recommended by a licensed medical doctor.

2. Religious: Available to most people who have sincerely held religious objections. Specific qualifying criteria may vary with different state or federal laws. These are offered in 48 states and in all federal jurisdictions.

3. Personal or Philosophical: Available to some people with personal or philosophical objections. Offered in about U.S. 20 states for students and in Maine for healthcare workers, but not in any federal jurisdictions or contexts.

Exemptions may not apply in emergency situations. See the Pandemic Response Project for more information on this.

DO YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY?

No one is required to hire an attorney to exercise a legal right. However, making informed decisions requires having a sufficient understanding of your rights, and there are few short-answer vaccine exemption questions. Vaccine exemption and waiver law is more complicated than most people realize. Many people end up spending a lot of money paying an attorney to try to get them out of a problem they could have avoided altogether if they had only consulted an attorney ahead of time.

The two best ways to make informed decisions on vaccine exemptions and waivers are to consult an experienced attorney, and/or purchase The Authoritative Guide to Vaccine Legal Exemptions e-book. Beware of Internet advice. Even highly reputable sites, including those of alternative medical doctors and vaccine book authors, provide information about vaccine rights that is usually a mixture of accurate and inaccurate information. Some who have relied on anti-vaccine websites have lost exemption rights unnecessarily. If it doesn’t come from an attorney experienced in this area of the law, beware!

Q & A Cont. With Alan Philips Esq. #Vaccines #Mandated Vaccines #Vaccine Exemptions

Very fascinating material today and all week.  Thank you Mr. Phillips for your time in this area.  What a great value this has been to all of us.  We look forward to your future Q & A participation.

Q:   Can you complete waivers if you want to pick and choose which vaccinations your pet undergoes?

Illinois

A:  About a dozen states have medical exemptions for dogs, but that’s it. Pets don’t have religious beliefs, and they are considered “chattel”—property—under the law, for the most part. But first, determine what vaccines are required by law and which ones are merely recommended (for your veterinarian’s and big pharma’s financial gain). Beyond that, it’s probably up to a vet to decide, though the option to pick and choose could vary from state to state depending on the specific wording of each state’s laws.

Very few states allow “pick and choose” for school exemptions. While such an option might be inferred in any state with a philosophical exemption, if it’s not clearly spelled out, you can’t necessarily make the assumption that it’s a legal option. Similarly, delayed vaccines, even where supported by a doctor, may not be a legal option. Remember—we don’t get to decide how to interpret the law—that’s the job of the courts. So, if you’re not sure about the interpretation of your state’s law, consider consulting an attorney about the matter. Every state has “statutory construction” rules or laws that explain how to interpret each state’s statutes. Legally, either those rules and/or legal precedent will answer the question; and if there is a formal dispute, then a judge may ultimately have to decide.

I really like what Colorado has, a form that allows you to check exactly which vaccines you are refusing, and to indicate whether or not the refusal is for religious or philosophical reasons. You can’t get much more flexible than that! Odd, though, that Colorado state law also requires healthcare workers to get flu vaccines and offers *no* exemption option for that. There is a right to refuse for religious reasons, however, under federal civil rights law.

Q:   How is the vaccine court different from other U.S. courts?

A:   The “vaccine courts” are a division of the Court of Federal Claims that address only vaccine injury compensation claims, and nothing else. They have “special masters” instead of judges, and have their own unique procedural rules. They are the only option vaccine victims have for any kind of compensation for their injury, or their families for their death when a vaccines kills someone. At last check, only about 26% of applicants get compensated. The system was created by the National Childhood Injury Compensation Act of 1986, and supposedly to make it easier for vaccine victims to get compensation, but in practice it has become harder and harder to get compensation, and instead of being much quicker than state courts, it can take much longer, from what I’ve heard. Still, the system pays out $100 million annually, and this is despite the fact that the FDA and CDC say that only 1 – 10% of serious adverse events ever get reported in the first place. So, the system is, at least in the minds of vaccine injury advocates, in dire need of revision. A recent hearing to review the problems was postponed…

Payouts from this system are posted on the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program’s (VICP’s) website: http://www.hrsa.gov/vaccinecompensation/index.html (go to data and statistics, link on the left)
